Coopers Plains State School is located on Orange Grove Road and services the community of Coopers Plains and parts of Sunnybank, Salisbury and Nathan. Coopers Plains, formerly Orange Grove State School is the oldest school in the district and has a proud history and traditions to uphold.
With a school population of approximately 200 students, the qualities of a small school with a caring family atmosphere are immediately evident. Our very capable staff know all the children by name and the excellent pupil-teacher ratio ensures that all children receive individual assessment and participate in programs that lead to a successful and enjoyable school life.
The school offers a curriculum program based on the eight key learning areas. Japanese is taught in Years 3 to 6. Developing our student’s literacy and numeracy skills is considered to be of the utmost importance and considerable school resources are devoted to this priority.
A proud sporting tradition is maintained at Coopers Plains, with children competing in six interschool sports competitions throughout the year. An instrumental music program and choir provide musical opportunities for students.
Parents are invited to join our hard working Parents and Citizens Association. Parents who become involved in school life can volunteer as classroom assistants, tuckshop helpers or in assisting at numerous school events. The valuable contribution of parents provides a supportive framework for the continuing development of Coopers Plains State School.
